Here at Film Junkette, we have our own rating style. When I see a film, I tend to place it into one of three categories:
1) Big Screener: A really great action movie, a falling-off-your-seat comedy, an overall beautifully-made film. These are the types of films that are worth the time and money to rush out and see in theatres; films that you’ll actually want to watch again and again.
2) Renter: “I liked it, it wasn’t at all terrible, but I wish I would have waited to rent it instead.” Have you ever thought that after leaving the movie theatre? These are the types of films that are just made for a pizza and movie night in at home.
3) Time Waster: You’re bored, the acting is terrible, the story has lost your interest and it’s only 20 minutes into the film. These are the types of films that make you cringe when thinking about having to watch them again. Don’t waste your time or money going to see this in theatres, and unless you’re bored out of your mind, don’t bother renting it.
